HOW TO DELETE YOUR KEDA ACCOUNT
Version 1.0 — 6 October 2026
KEDA is the app of On Project Labs, S.L. This page explains how to delete your KEDA account and the data associated with it, what happens the moment you request it, how to recover it if you change your mind, what is deleted and what is kept. It describes what the app does today. The reference document about your data is the App Privacy Policy, at keda.social/en/app/privacy. In case of discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Deleting your account from the app
- Open KEDA and go to your profile: it is the last tab in the bottom bar, the one showing your photo.
- Tap the menu icon (≡) in the top right corner. The "Settings" screen opens.
- Under "Account", tap "Security".
- At the bottom of that screen, tap "Delete account".
- Read the notice and confirm with "Delete my account".
We will not ask for your password or for a reason, and there are no prerequisites: you can delete your account even if you organise plans, have a paid promotion running or your account is suspended. The process is the same whether you sign in with email and password, with Apple or with Google.
Once you confirm, the app signs you out and returns to the sign-in screen. That is the confirmation that your request has been registered.
2. What happens at that moment
- Your account becomes inactive and locked: you are signed out on every device and cannot sign in again.
- Nobody can see your profile. In what you posted, your name and photo are replaced by "Deleted user". Your stories stop being shown.
- Your reference location, the one used to show you plans nearby, is deleted at that instant. It is not restored, even if you recover the account.
- You stop receiving notifications about other people's activity (followers, requests, messages). You would still receive those that concern your own content or your account: moderation, content being hidden and suspension.
- The plans you organised stay published for the people who joined them, with no visible organiser. They are not cancelled automatically: if you want to cancel them, do it before deleting your account, from the plan itself.
- Your place in the plans you joined is kept until the final deletion, in case you recover the account.
3. Thirty days to change your mind
During the following 30 days you can recover the account:
- On the sign-in screen, try to sign in with your account. KEDA will tell you it has been closed and offer "Recover account".
- Enter your email or your @username and tap "Send code". You will receive a six-digit code at your account's email address. The code expires after 10 minutes, allows three attempts, and you can request up to five codes a day.
- Enter the code and tap "Recover account". Then sign in as usual.
Everything is restored as it was, with two exceptions: the reference location, which you will have to set again, and your sessions, which you will have to open again. If your account was suspended, the suspension remains in force.
After the 30 days, the account can no longer be recovered.
4. What is permanently deleted
Once the 30 days are up, the deletion is carried out by an automatic process that runs four times a day, so it happens at most six hours after the deadline. If any part fails, it is retried in the following runs.
The following is irreversibly deleted:
- Your profile: photo, date of birth, bio, city and country, display name, email, phone number, social media links, interests, how you found KEDA and who invited you. Your username is replaced by a technical one that is never shown again and cannot be reused.
- Your sign-in account: the email, the password and the link with Apple or Google.
- Your stories and their views.
- Your saved items, the notifications you received, your preferences, your interactions in Discover and your interests profile.
- Your usage sessions and the verification codes we sent you.
- Your attendance and participation in plans, your place in waiting lists, pending invitations and requests, and your followers and following.
- The kudos you received.
- The plans you created in which nobody else took part, with everything they contained.
- The files: your profile photo, the photos and videos of your stories and of the plans being deleted, and the ones you sent in chats that are not part of a message that is kept.
5. What is kept, and for how long
What you shared in other people's spaces. The private messages you exchanged, your messages in plan chats, your posts, comments and reactions in plans, and the photos, videos and audio that go with them are kept because they are part of other people's conversations and plans. They are no longer linked to your identifying data and appear as "Deleted user". Someone who talked with you may still recognise you by what you wrote. The plans you organised in which other people take part are kept in the same way, without an organiser. The kudos you gave remain with whoever received them, without your authorship. Other people's notifications in which you appear are kept for up to 12 months from their creation, with your name replaced by "Deleted user".
What we must keep for safety or legal reasons.
| What | For how long |
|---|---|
| Reports and breaches of the Community Guidelines, and the record of moderation decisions | Ordinary breaches: 12 months. Alerts that may be related to a crime: up to 5 years, or without a time limit if the matter is referred to the authorities. After that period, the data that identifies you and the free text are removed; a record remains that there was a breach and how it was resolved, without identifying you |
| Reports pending review, made by you or about your content | Until they are resolved; then the period above |
| Appeals you filed against a suspension | The text is removed after 12 months, or after 5 years if the sanction was serious |
| Record of acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and of the Privacy Policy | Locked from the deletion and destroyed after 5 years. It contains an internal identifier, the document, its version, the language and the date; not your email or your name |
| Data on the purchases and promotion campaigns you paid for | As required by tax and commercial law |
Technical data. The app usage events (including the searches you made in Discover), the logs of use of the artificial intelligence and storage services and the interactions with the home feed are kept for up to 12 months from when they were generated, and are then deleted. The error reports sent by your app are kept without your identifier. Our infrastructure provider's logs, which include the IP address of each request, expire on their own in about 90 days.
Legal hold. If there is a claim, a request from the authorities or open proceedings related to your account, we may block the final deletion until it is resolved. In the meantime the account remains inactive and recoverable, and it is deleted as soon as the hold is lifted.
6. Deleting specific data without closing your account
From the app itself you can:
- Delete a plan you created, if nobody else has joined. If there are participants, cancel it first to notify them and then you will be able to delete it.
- Cancel a plan that has not started yet, leave a plan, leave a waiting list, withdraw a request to join and decline an invitation.
- Delete your posts and your stories.
- Delete your messages, in plan chats and in private conversations. The message is shown as deleted.
- Remove a kudo you gave, unfollow someone, block and unblock, and remove plans and posts from your saved items.
- Clear your display name, your bio and your social media links; change your photo, your reference location and your username (once every 14 days); unselect all your interests; and change your password and your account privacy.
- Clear your recent people searches, from the search screen itself.
For everything else, write to hola@keda.social: deleting a comment of yours, deleting an entire private conversation, removing your profile photo or your reference location without replacing them, removing your phone number, changing your email or your date of birth, removing a follower, obtaining a copy of your data, objecting to personalisation, and withdrawing the data on who invited you and how you found KEDA.
7. If you cannot do it from the app
If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, write to hola@keda.social, if possible from the email address you registered with, with the subject "Delete my account" and your @username. We may ask you to prove your identity before processing it. We will handle your request within one month at most.
The account follows the same process as if you deleted it from the app: it becomes inactive immediately and is permanently deleted after 30 days, as described in sections 4 and 5.
